Ramp Up No Deal Preperations With FTA’S Brexit Webinar.

Following the rejection of the withdrawal agreement this week (15 January 2019), the Freight Transport Association (FTA) is advising logistics managers to advance their preparations for a No Deal Brexit. To help businesses navigate this uncharted territory, FTA will be holding an exclusive webinar, No Deal Brexit Briefings for Logistics Managers on 25 January 2019.

Hosted by FTA’s internationally-renowned team of Brexit experts, the webinar will be essential listening for any business involved in logistics and the movement of goods between the EU and UK. Covering customs declarations & duties, non-customs checks and EU27 workers, the two-hour session will provide a comprehensive guide to No Deal planning across all transport modes: road, sea, air and rail.

Pauline Bastidon , Head of European Policy and Brexit at FTA, the business organisation representing the logistics industry, commented: “With the rejection of the withdrawal agreement in Parliament this week, the chances of the UK leaving the EU without a deal in place has now increased significantly. As such, FTA strongly advises logistics managers to ramp up their preparations for a No Deal withdrawal. FTA is committed to guiding businesses through the complex No Deal Brexit planning process; the knowledge and expertise of our Brexit team is second to none and we strongly advise any business engaging in logistics and the movement of goods between the EU and UK to register for the webinar without delay.”

Bastidon continued: “FTA has been at the heart of the debate on Brexit since the triggering of Article 50, standing up for the logistics sector and lobbying government to keep Britain trading. A No Deal Brexit would be highly damaging for trade, for business and for Britain. FTA is continuing to urge the government to reach an agreement with the EU which will keep goods and services flowing with minimal disruption, as No Deal is no option for logistics. Meanwhile, businesses should continue to plan for the worst – a No Deal outcome – to mitigate against further problems as much as possible.”

The webinar will take place at 10am on the 25 January 2019 and attendees will have a chance to ask their most pressing questions to FTA’s Brexit team.

To take part in the webinar, the cost is £100 for FTA members or £150 for non-FTA members. For further information or to book a place go to Click Here (the information about the event will be published before the end of this week) or call FTA Customer Services on 03717 11 22 22.

Efficient logistics is vital to keep Britain trading, directly having an impact on more than seven million people employed in the making, selling and moving of goods. With Brexit, new technology and other disruptive forces driving change in the way goods move across borders and through the supply chain, logistics has never been more important to UK plc. A champion and challenger, FTA speaks to Government with one voice on behalf of the whole sector, with members from the road, rail, sea and air industries, as well as the buyers of freight services such as retailers and manufacturers.
