TCS&D magazine was delighted to receive an invitation from Steve Barker, managing director of Barker’s Commercials, to visit SOR’s factory in Alzira, Spain and meet Jose Gorriz SOR’s Chief Executive Officer to find out a little more about this European refrigerated trailer and rigid manufacturer.

SOR was founded in 1970 by a local industrialist and now employs more than 315 employees across their extensive 95,000 sqm manufacturing site in Alzira and 35,000 sqm site in Murcia.

In 2015 SOR became part of The Reefer Group which gave SOR the opportunity to increase their capacity and to modernise their existing sites.

In 2016 Chereau also became part of the The Reefer Group.

The Reefer Group had a turnover of over 260m euros in 2017.

It was very clear to TCS&D from the outset that the philosophy behind SOR was all about giving their customers a bespoke trailer that they wanted, not just a standard refrigerated box.
